“EDO WITNESSES THE PASSING OUT CEREMONY OF 46 NEWLY RECRUITED PERSONNEL BY NSCDC.”

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) conducted a Passing Out Parade for 46 newly trained personnel, marking the culmination of six months of intensive training.

During the ceremony, Gbenga Agun, the Commandant of the Edo Command, addressed the 2023 intakes, emphasizing the importance of diligence in carrying out their duties. He commended the civil defenders in the state for their active involvement in handling emergencies, including floods that displaced communities, the Ologbo tanker fire incident, and the Lassa fever outbreak in 2023.

Agun reiterated the Edo command’s dedication to mitigating disaster risks and minimizing their impact across the state.

Representing Governor Godwin Obaseki, the state Commissioner of Public Security and Safety, Mr. Kingsley Uwagbale, affirmed the state government’s commitment to collaborating with the corps. The partnership will focus on training and capacity building for the state Security Network, commonly known as vigilantes.
