ALIA APPROVES INDEPENDENT FINANCIAL STATUS FOR BENUE LEGISLATURE AND JUDICIARY

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State announced on Thursday that the state’s legislative and judiciary branches now possess complete financial independence. The governor conveyed this information through his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, during a press briefing on the outcomes of the State Executive meeting held at the Government House in Makurdi.

Alia clarified that this decision aims to enhance the smooth and effective functioning of government administration, promoting a more focused and organized approach to advancing the state.

Additionally, the governor revealed the approval of the establishment of a Benue Sub-National Fund, resembling the National Sovereign Fund of the Federal Government, during the meeting. He mentioned the formation of a committee tasked with developing an operational framework, intending to submit it to the state House of Assembly for legislative enactment.
