AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY (ABU) TARGETS ACHIEVING A 70:30 RATIO IN POSTGRADUATE AND UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS BY 2036.

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria has outlined its strategy to increase postgraduate enrollment, aiming for a 70:30 ratio in postgraduate and undergraduate admissions by the year 2036. Professor Kabiru Bala, the vice chancellor of the university, revealed this plan during the inaugural international conference organized by the Department of Mass Communication at ABU.

The vice chancellor emphasized the importance of postgraduate studies in generating highly skilled professionals and conducting quality research crucial for sustainable national development. The three-day conference, conducted in collaboration with the MacArthur Foundation, the Centre for Collaborative Investigative Journalism (CCIJ), Rise Networks, Dataphyte, International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR), and Wadata Media and Advocacy Centre (WAMAC), commenced on Monday, February 26, 2024.

Professor Bala highlighted that the objective of this plan is not only to address local and global challenges but also to enhance the university’s global ranking and visibility.
