TINCAN ROAD REPAIR ALLEVIATES TRAFFIC CONGESTION AND BOOSTS BUSINESS – GOVERNOR OYETOLA
The completion of the Tincan Port access road, as mentioned by Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, has effectively addressed the traffic congestion in Apapa, leading to an enhancement in the business environment.
This road rehabilitation initiative was undertaken within two months of Oyetola’s communication with Dave Umahi, his counterpart in the Ministry of Works, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the deteriorated sections of port access roads nationwide.
During a debriefing session with his technical team in Abuja on Wednesday, Oyetola expressed the commitment to extend road improvements to access points for other ports across the country. He highlighted that this strategic initiative not only resolves traffic issues but also contributes to increased port efficiency, fostering economic growth for the nation.
In a letter dated February 14, 2024, titled “Re: Urgent Request for Rehabilitation of the Federal Access Roads to Key Ports,” the Minister of Works updated his counterpart on the successful completion of the access road to Tincan Port, Lagos. Additionally, he announced that a contract for the rehabilitation of the access road to Lagos Port complex in Lagos State has been awarded, with the contractor set to mobilize to the site soon.
