WEMA BANK WELCOMES TWO FRESH FACES TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Wema Bank, a leading innovative bank and the pioneer of Africa’s inaugural fully digital bank, ALAT, has declared the appointment of two accomplished industry professionals, Segun Opeke and Yusuf Kazaure, to the Board of Directors, subsequent to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Segun Opeke, an alumnus of the University of Lagos, holds degrees in Banking and Finance and an MBA. Additionally, he has attended several prestigious institutions, including the Colombia Business School and the London Business School, participating in professional and leadership programs.

Yusuf Kazaure, an expert in the Corporate and Technology Industry with over 35 years of diverse multi-sector experience, obtained his BSc and MSc in Architecture from Ahmadu Bello University. He also holds an MBA from Bayero University and a Diploma in Computing from Oxford University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cybersecurity at Nasarawa State University.

The appointment of Segun Opeke and Yusuf Kazaure is seen as a strategic move by Wema Bank to enhance its workforce and drive transformative outcomes. Dr. Oluwayemisi Olorunshola, the Chairman of Wema Bank, expressed the bank’s commitment to strengthening its workforce and forming strategic partnerships for corporate goals and customer satisfaction.

Moruf Oseni, the MD/CEO of Wema Bank, welcomed the new appointees, stating that their extensive industry experience comes at a crucial point in the bank’s journey, aligning with the institution’s focus on significant growth.
