SOPHOS SECURES TOP POSITION AS A LEADER IN THE 2024 IDC MARKETSCAPE EVALUATION FOR GLOBAL MODERN ENDPOINT SECURITY.

Sophos, a global leader in innovating and delivering cybersecurity as a service, has announced its recognistion as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Modern Endpoint Security for Midsize Businesses 2024 Vendor Assessment, which evaluates the solutions and business strategies of 16 modern endpoint security (MES) vendors.

Sophos Endpoint safeguards over 300,000 global organizations from advanced threats by employing anti-ransomware, anti-exploitation, behavioral analysis, and various technologies to preemptively halt the escalation of threats.

IDC’s report commends Sophos Endpoint for incorporating an extensive array of protective technologies, such as host-based firewall, IDS/IPS, device control, DLP, and encryption, as standard features in its endpoint security offering.

Furthermore, Sophos earns recognition for systematically enhancing customers’ security postures, featuring robust capabilities in customer security advisory and introducing an account health-checking feature to detect and remediate security configuration drift.

The report also lauds Sophos for introducing new capabilities, including adaptive attack protection, critical attack warning, and data protection and recovery, as additional measures to mitigate risks effectively.

Sophos Endpoint, with its comprehensive capabilities covering protection, detection, response, and recovery, seamlessly integrates with Sophos Managed Detection and Response (MDR), the most widely used MDR offering, along with other vendors’ products.

Sophos Endpoint serves as the foundation for Sophos Extended Detection and Response (XDR) and Sophos Endpoint Detection and Response capabilities (EDR), showcasing its versatility within Sophos’ cybersecurity ecosystem.

Rob Harrison, Senior Vice President of Product Management at Sophos, emphasizes the strategic engineering of products and services to work cohesively and provide preventive, actionable defenses against evolving cyber threats.

Sophos’ adaptive attack protection, introduced in early 2023, disrupts hands-on-keyboard attackers while minimizing disruption to legitimate operations. This innovation detects aggressive tactics, automatically elevates protection sensitivity, and reverts to normal protections once the threat is eliminated.

Sophos’ critical attack warning alerts security personnel, enabling immediate responses through Sophos MDR, incident response (IR), or XDR. Given the prevalence of ransomware attacks, organizations need to be prepared for recovery.

Sophos’ cloud-native Sophos Central platform manages their portfolio solutions, part of the Sophos Adaptive Cybersecurity Ecosystem. This ecosystem collects, correlates, and enriches security data to enable automatic and synchronized responses to active threats.

The platform is further fortified by Sophos X-Ops threat intelligence, a cross-operational task force comprising over 500 security experts within SophosLabs, Sophos SecOps, and SophosAI.
