THE YEAR 2024 MARKS THE UNVEILING OF SYSTEMSPECS GROUP’S CHILDREN’S DAY ESSAY COMPETITION.

SystemSpecs Group has revealed the launch of the 2024 Children’s Day Essay Competition (CDEC), inviting Nigerian students in primary and secondary schools to participate. The aim is to maintain SystemSpecs as a leading software institution in Africa while inspiring and empowering young Nigerians with IT-based knowledge to drive transformative change in Nigeria and contribute to a sustainable world. This year’s essay theme is “Safeguarding Nigerian Children from Online Technology Risks”, prompting students to explore the benefits and challenges of digitization and propose strategies to protect themselves from digital threats.

Mr. ‘DeRemi Atanda, managing director of Remita Payment Services Limited, emphasizes the importance of educating children about online safety, allowing them to learn and grow responsibly.

The competition will kick off on February 20th, 2024, offering students a platform to propose solutions for Nigeria’s evolving digital landscape.

The CDEC initiative is part of SystemSpecs Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts to foster an inclusive and sustainable future for the Nigerian technology industry.

Mrs. Bukola Adeboye, group head of Corporate Services at SystemSpecs Holdings Limited, underscores the company’s commitment to supporting education and community development, citing the CDEC as a prime example.

Since its inception in 2020, the CDEC has received over 8,000 submissions from students, involving about 1,000 schools annually.

This educational initiative aligns with SystemSpecs Group’s CSR commitment to enhancing capacity development in the ICT sector.

Mr. Henry Eguabor, head of Brands and Marketing at SystemSpecs Holdings Limited, expresses excitement about the 2024 competition, emphasizing its role in encouraging youth engagement with national issues.

Essays will be evaluated based on originality, clarity, research quality, and relevance to Nigeria’s challenges, with winners announced on May 27, 2024.

SystemSpecs will award prizes, certificates, and gifts to winners, and publish winning essays on its website and social media platforms.
