2025 AUSTRALIA AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDY IN AUSTRALIA (FULLY FUNDED)
Applications are now open for the 2025 Australia Awards Scholarships.
Australia Awards scholarships, prestigious international awards by the Australian Government, aim to empower the next generation of global leaders in developing countries. These awards foster enduring people-to-people links with Australia, enabling recipients to acquire skills and knowledge to drive positive change. Assessment criteria include professional and personal qualities, academic competence, and the potential to address development challenges in eligible countries. Encouraging applications from women, people with disabilities, and marginalized groups is a priority.
Priority Fields of Study:
- Climate change
- Agriculture and food security
- Mining and energy
- Foreign policy and international security
- Gender, disability, and social inclusion
Level of Study:
Australia Awards scholarships provide citizens of eligible African countries the opportunity to pursue a Master’s qualification at an Australian tertiary institution, with awards commencing in 2025.
Eligibility Requirements:
In addition to general eligibility criteria, candidates from eligible African countries must:
- Be a minimum of 25 years old by February 1, 2025.
- Possess at least 5 years of post-graduate work experience in a field related to their chosen study.
- Be a citizen of an eligible country, residing in and applying from their country of citizenship.
- Not hold or be undertaking a Master’s degree or equivalent.
- Already hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to an Australian undergraduate degree.
- Not have previously received a long-term Australia Award.
- Meet minimum English language proficiency requirements (e.g., IELTS score of at least 6.5 with no band less than 6.0).
Australia Awards Benefits:
Recipients will receive support for the minimum period required to complete the academic program, including preparatory training. The benefits include:
- Return air travel
- One-off establishment allowance upon arrival
- Full tuition fees
- Contribution to living expenses
- Introductory academic program
- Overseas student health cover for the scholarship’s duration
- Supplementary academic support
- Fieldwork allowance for research students and master’s by coursework with compulsory fieldwork.
