The University of Pretoria (UP) is offering Mastercard Foundation scholarships for qualified African students seeking postgraduate studies in 2024. This prestigious program provides full financial support, covering:

Eligibility:

  • Be a citizen from an African country.
  • Demonstrate financial need and come from an economically disadvantaged background.
  • Possess a strong academic record and commitment to maintaining good grades.

  • Upon graduation, return to your home country and contribute to its development.

Program Goal:

The available programmes are programmes offered by the following faculties;

  • Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences
  • Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences
  • Faculty of Humanities for entry into the BPolSci (Political Studies or International Studies only)
  • Faculty of Law (Undergraduates: SADC, Post Graduates: All African Countries)
  • Faculty of Education
  • Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment & Information Technology (EBIT)

How to Apply:

Interested students should first apply for admission to a postgraduate program at UP;

  • You will have to first apply to secure admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Pretoria.
  • Submit your application electronically to mcfsp@up.ac.za or deliver a printed copy to the Department for Education Innovation’s reception office
  • Download and complete the hard copy of the postgraduate application form provided below: undergraduate-application-2024.pdf

  • Your application will undergo a review process. You will be notified of the outcome afterward.
